Description

This unique sterling silver necklace is stamped with "TV76" in the back of the pendant. TV-76 refers to a prominent hallmark for authentic, vintage Mexican sterling silver jewelry. The letter T indicates the city of Taxco (the silver capital of Mexico), the V denotes the silversmith's first initial, and 76 is a registration number assigned to that specific artisan by the Mexican government or relevant silversmith union. It measures 1.5 inches tall by 1 and one eighth inch wide. The center stone is aventurine set into a geometric sun, and the beads of the necklace are amber, malachite, lapis, hematite, blue topaz, jasper, black and white onyx, and many more that I can't identify. The necklace measures a dramatic and generous 24 inches long, and closes with a toggle clasp that is also sterling. The toggle has a tag tthat says "925 Mexico" Wow! What a treasure! While the history is not known, I believe this piece is Mexican Taxco. This is an exceptionally beautiful work of art. The necklace that you see in the photo is the actual necklace you will receive.
