The top stone is Pietersite, which is fairly rare and generally very expensive, though not in this case. It is known for its iridescence, or chatoyancy in lapidary (stone working) terms. This stone looks very much like a multi-colored tiger eye. That's just the start of this masterpiece of nature! Any time this pendant is moved, it flashes with an iridescent blue in the 25mm by 15mm rainbow moonstone. There's also a tiny bit of gold flash in this stone. This beautiful stone is bezel set in sterling and measures 35mm across the bottom, 25mm on the right side, and 28 mm on the left side. Moving down to the bottom stone, the faceted topaz is 12 mm by 10 mm. The entire pendant measures a touch over 2.25 inches not including bail, and 1.5 inches wide at the widest point of this gorgeous sterling silver pendant. All measurements are approximate. The pendant you see in the photos is the actual pendant you will receive.
Moonstone is often referred to as "The Goddess Stone." Directly connected to the moon, it has a very feminine energy that is cyclical in nature just as a women's cycle. It has a very soothing energy that calms our emotions by releasing energy blockages that prevent us from being able to remain composed and balanced while we are experiencing emotional highs and lows and by encouraging us to accept our emotions as they come without dwelling on them or judging ourselves too harshly. It inspires us to be the best version of ourselves and to learn from our mistakes, but to also challenge ourselves to be the creative beings we were meant to be without fear of failure. Moonstone is a very intuitive stone, helping us connect with our Third Eye to enhance and trust our intuition. Trusting yourself is challenging for most of us, but Moonstone nurtures our fears and trepidations until we begin to see how powerful we truly are. A stone of “New Beginnings,” Moonstone reminds us that we are never stuck in one place on this journey and are always afforded an opportunity for a fresh start!
Pietersite is said to enhance vision and astral travel, dispel illusions and promote loyalty to self. Because its swirling colors resemble a storm, Pietersite is known as tempest stone. Pietersite is said to center on the spiritual being with the ability to ground an individual to the etheric body--the first or lowest layer in the "human energy field" or aura. Pietersite discharges negative energies and emotional turmoil while cleansing the aura, restoring it to calm. Pietersite is thought to work with the body during meditation, rapidly moving into a higher state of awareness. Pietersite is believed to be a stone of vision and can be used for a vision quest or shaman journey. According to metaphysical beliefs, Pietersite promotes a concerted activation of the sacral and solar plexus chakras, as well as the third eye, creating a powerful increase in the energy of will and in one's intuitive capabilities. Pietersite is an extremely supportive and strengthening stone that increases self-esteem.
